Robert Nobel practices in the firm's general liability litigation, professional liability litigation and insurance coverage departments. As part of his general liability litigation practice, Mr. Nobel defends property owners and contractors in personal injury and property damage actions involving premises, labor law, construction, toxic torts and products liability matters. Mr. Nobel's professional liability practice focuses on the defense of architects, engineers, and attorneys. As respects insurance coverage, Mr. Nobel counsels primary, excess and umbrella insurer clients on a variety of national and local issues. He also prosecutes and defends coverage actions on behalf of insurers across the country.
Before joining the firm, Mr. Nobel was an Assistant General Counsel to the New York City Department of Buildings, specializing in land use and zoning issues. Prior to that, he was an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the New York City Law Department, specializing in the defense of negligence actions as well as civil rights and Title VII violations.
Mr. Nobel received his Bachelors of Arts from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1989 and his J.D. Degree, cum laude, from St. John’s University School of Law in 1992, where he received the American Jurisprudence Awards for Excellence in both Constitutional Law and Real Property, and served as a member of the International Law Review and Moot Court. He is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of New York as well as the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. |
